Next Steps Group
As an Ambassador for AYME I am trying to raise as much money as possible and make more awareness of ME/CFS. It only takes £5 to pay for a person's membership and if I make more it can help with workshops to bring AYME members together to help fight loneliness and help to live with the illness; it's not easy.
So far I have raised £2926.47 through the following events completed during the last three months.
Yellow Day Success - Parkside Primary School
A huge thanks goes to Parkside Primary School in Stafford who raised a wonderful £167.17 for AYME on their Yellow Day.
I held a pre-Yellow Day assembly and plasticine workshop which enabled me to educate the children and teachers about M.E and AYME whilst indulging in my favourite hobby: plasticine model making! On Yellow Day, children came to school in yellow clothes for a £1 donation and did yellow activities all day, even including yellow maths i.e. if a=1 and z=26 what does Yellow Day total????
They also made cards, poems and books which are winging their way to AYME as we speak. AYME will then send them out, where appropriate, to my fellow members who are more severely affected. They really made me smile when I read them and I hope they will for those who receive them. Many thanks to Mrs Jones, the Headteacher, for organising the days and to all the teachers, children and parents who helped to make the day such a success.
Jumble Sale
I held a fundraising jumble sale on 13th June 2009 from 1.00pm - 3.00pm in Derrington Village Hall where I sold all my old toys, books and clothes. My family also donated lots of items and grew plants and baked cakes to sell too. Click here for more info.
Raffle
We raffled off lots of fantastic prizes at the fundraising jumble sale. Mum asked lots of people from work for prizes (thank you) and Dad did too. We held the draw at my jumble sale.

Yellow Day
On June 5th we held a Yellow Day at school (Cooper Perry Primary) where children and teachers dressed in yellow items of clothes and donated 50p each. I took a whole assembly to educate everyone on ME, what it is and how it affects children's lives. We raised a fabulous grand total of £104.20. Huge thanks to everyone who helped especially to my Head Teacher Mrs Wynne who organised it all."
Models
Mum has bought me a bulk amount of plasticine so I can continue to make and sell my models. If you'd like to buy one please let me know.
